The Salvation Army in Puerto Rico Provides Support to AEMEAD

(Puerto Rico, Aug. 29, 2012) Through the course of the storm in Puerto Rico, The Salvation Army supported the State Agency for Emergency Management and Disaster Management (AEMEAD) by providing the Zone 10 directors and managers an operational command post in the Salvation Army's Disaster Services facilities in Caguas, PR, where an Emergency Operations Center was established for that area.

From Tuesday August 21, 2012 until Saturday, August 24, 2012, they were able to coordinate operations from the Army's building. The officers and staff of The Salvation Army worked with AEMEAD, day and night, receiving the latest information available and coordinating the event for the communities served by Zone 10.
