The Salvation Army prepares to serve the Carolinas during Winter Storm Pax

CHARLOTTE (February 12, 2014) - Today, much of the eastern United States is preparing for Winter Storm Pax. The Salvation Army is doing the same, working with partner organizations and local government agencies to ensure adequate care for residents affected by the storm.

Throughout North and South Carolina, personnel from The Salvation Army are preparing to serve those in need.  In coordination with county emergency management as well as cooperation with other local agencies, The Salvation Army is preparing to provide support to shelters and warming centers.

In North Carolina, Salvation Army officers from Asheville, Fayetteville and Salisbury are ready to respond as required or requested. The same is true in Orangeburg, SC.  Using local Salvation Army facilities and mobile kitchen unit canteens stationed locally, preparations continue in order to provide meals, snacks, drinks, as well as shelter to those impacted by the storm.

The Salvation Army is grateful for any monetary donations to help offset the cost of response during Winter Storm Pax. Please donate at 1 800 SAL ARMY or www.salvationarmyusa.org. For more information on this storm, please go to www.disaster.salvationarmyusa.org.
