Salvation Army provides assistance to Georgetown and Williamsburg, SC

Georgetown, SC – Since October 3, 2015, there have been many damaging rainstorms and flood events throughout South Carolina. The Salvation Army of Georgetown responded and is continuing to provide food, hydration, and emotional and spiritual care to communities throughout Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties.

In order to provide much needed assistance to these communities, The Salvation Army of Georgetown has added employees and volunteers from all over the country to serve on the incident command team, food service teams, and emotional and spiritual care teams.

The Salvation Army has continued to provide trained individuals to provide Emotional and Spiritual Care to citizens and first responders affected by the flooding events in Salters, SC at the Central Missionary Baptist Church located at 180 Council Rd. The Salvation Army has also provided cleanup kits to St. Luke United Methodist, 5001 US Hwy 521, Salters, SC.

Salvation Army food service teams from Savannah, GA, Waynesville, NC, and Salisbury, NC, provided the following meals to citizens and first responders at the following locations:
• Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner at Central Missionary Baptist Church, 180 Council Rd., Salters, SC
• Lunch at Trinity Church, 206 S. Rosemary, Andrews, SC and Choppe Recreation Center, 8259      Choppe Rd., Georgetown, SC
• Dinner at Williamsburg County Fire Department, 105 CR S-45-247, Salters, SC.

The Salvation Army will continue to provide the following meals to citizens and first responders at the following locations tomorrow Saturday October 17, 2015:
• Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner at Central Missionary Baptist Church, 180 Council Rd., Salters, SC and Williamsburg County Fire Department Station 11, 105 105 CR S-45-247, Salters, SC
• Lunch at Trinity Church, 206 S. Rosemary, Andrews, SC.
