Salvation Army and Georgia National Guard Partner in Glynn County

Brunswick, Georgia (October 10, 2016) – The Georgia National Guard and The Salvation Army are partnering together in Glynn County to help those affected by Hurricane Matthew.
On Sunday evening and Monday, The Salvation Army provided meals to close to 300 men and women of the Georgia National Guard after they provided service all day long to Brunswick and the surrounding area.
On Monday morning, the National Guard transported and unloaded eight pallets of water provided through the Emergency Operations Center. Due to limited space, the men and women had to unload the eight pallets by hand in lieu of a forklift.
On this disaster response, as well as numerous others, The Salvation Army partners with local and state government and other non-government organizations for service delivery. During times of disaster, it takes coordination and partnering with many to ensure the needs of those affected as well as first responders.
