In Bainbridge, GA, The Army Behind The Salvation Army After Hurricane Michael

BAINBRIDGE, GA (October 28, 2018) — It is often in times of trouble that the true measure of a person is seen. When disaster strikes, it is a given that employees of relief agencies will respond. However, there are also vast numbers of volunteers ready to give their time, their sweat, and their money to aid alongside these agencies. This volunteer army behind The Salvation Army is what helps to keep thing moving.

Mary Dye is a long time Salvation Army disaster volunteer. She’s been through hours of training and has deployed for multiple disasters. Mary’s latest deployment was in southern Georgia for Hurricane Michael relief. Mary and other volunteers spent one of their day filling crates of groceries for distribution. “I think the morale has been so good,” Mary enthused. “Today I worked with people who have been volunteering in that warehouse for days. One of them is 83 years old, and nobody complained. We’re all just happy to help.”
