RHODE ISLAND/MASSACHUSETTS (August 22, 2021) – Now that Tropical Storm Henri has officially made impact, The Salvation Army is actively preparing to respond in communities across New England. Incident Command Teams at both The Salvation Army’s Southern New England and Massachusetts Headquarters were established last week in preparation for the storm, covering any response needs in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

Our Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) mobile canteen teams are on standby, as well as our fixed Corps locations, to be able to provide feeding and other needed supports to those affected. Our EDS department is also in regular coordination with local, state, federal, and non-profit partners to determine emergency needs and manage responses across the state.
