The Salvation Army Responds to Pulaski and Draper Tornadoes
Christiansburg, VA– The Salvation Army is responding to twin tornadoes that struck the Pulaski and Draper Virginia communities on Friday, April 8.
The Salvation Army has distributed 200 hot meals into the affected areas. To families who are in having to clean and gather up their possessions from their damaged homes, Salvation Army volunteers and staff have distributed 300 snacks, bottled water, 150 cleaning kits, 140 storage containers, and sealable storage bags.
Captain Jim Forrer states, “The Salvation Army is ready to respond to the needs, whether those needs be food, snacks, or cleaning supplies. We are also providing emotional and spiritual care. We will stay and assist our neighbors as long as we are needed.”
