Greater Chattanooga Salvation Army Helps Organize Over 300 Volunteers

Chattanooga, TN (March 10, 2012) - The Salvation Army is very busy today with relief efforts due to the tornado that swept through last week.  "Bells of Hope" are ringing at Hamilton Place Mall to collect monetary donations today.  Food drives are being held at Ft. Oglethorpe and Hixson Walmarts with partners Cat Country 95.3 FM and WDEF News 12.  Over 250 volunteers are working out of Camp Joy to serve neighbors by cleaning up debris and removing trees. 

"The Salvation Army is proud to be a part of such a caring community," states Major Al Newsome, "it is going to take all of us to clean up and rebuild after the tornado, each of us giving our time, talent and resources."
