The Salvation Army Expands Relief Efforts for Yarnell Hill Fires

Phoenix, AZ (July 05, 2013) – The Salvation Army has served 1234 meals, 3316 drinks and 216 snacks to the first responders and survivors of the Yarnell Hill Fire. The Salvation Army is serving meals at the evacuee center at Yavapai College. In addition, they are providing meals at the Red Cross Headquarters, County Emergency Command and Joint Incident Command.  

Over the past several days, Salvation Army disaster service personnel assisted with immediate needs by providing clothing, utility assistance, and grocery’s for evacuees, as well as providing emotional and spiritual support. Monetary donations are desperately needed to help The Salvation Army assist those affected during the long recovery ahead.

• Donate at the register at any Bashas’, Food City or AJ’s grocery store. Call 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) and designate “AZ Fires”.

• You can also text the word “IGIVEAZ” to 80888 to make a $10 donation through your mobile phone.*

• Checks may be made out to: The Salvation Army PO BOX 80066 Prescott, AZ 86304. Please designate “AZ Fires” on all checks.

The Salvation Army uses 100% of your disaster donations in support of local disaster relief operations.
