Severe Weather Moves Across Georgia, The Salvation Army Is On The Scene

Dublin, Georgia (February 24, 2014) - Severe weather moved across Georgia and several other States last Thursday and Friday damaging more than 50 homes in northern Laurens County.  This comes a week after Winter Storm Pax hit North Georgia, Atlanta and the Augusta Area.

As the storm moved through, Sergeant James Allen of The Salvation Army Dublin Service Center was on the scene serving first responders.  "We are blessed to be part of an Army that is here to serve those when they need it most," Allen stated.  "Each day men, women and children visit The Salvation Army for food, clothing, and a variety of Social Services needs.  We are prepared to not only serve in times of natural disasters, such as the storms that passed through, but the storms of life."

The Salvation Army mobile canteen served over 60 meals, drinks and snacks to first responders.
