Charlottesville, VA (September 24, 2014) In the search for Hannah Graham, an 18-year-old freshman at the University of Virginia who has been mising since the early morning of September 13, The Salvation Army of Charlottesville, VA has provided support to volunteers and responders in the search efforts.
The Charlottesville Salvation Army Disaster Team arrived at the Carver Recreation Center in Charlottesville in the afternoon of Thursday, September 18 and provided comfort and support in the form of prayer, re-hydration, snacks and meals for Search and Rescue Teams from throughout the state who were on hand to assist in the efforts to find Hannah Graham. On Friday, September 19 the disaster team relocated to the John Paul Jones Arena to continue their efforts.
During their assistance to the search efforts, The Salvation Army has provided more than 1,000 meals, 1,200 soft drinks, water, chips and other snack items and more than1,200 hours of service to Search and Rescue Teams, Sherriff, Police and support personnel.
The Salvation Army will continue to provide these services along with our prayers for the family of Ms. Graham.
