The Salvation Army Aids Those Affected by Power Outages in Salinas
Salinas, CA (February 17, 2017): Today The Salvation Army opened its doors at the Salinas Corps at 2460 North Main Street to provide comfort, food, and hydration to those affected by the power outages in the area.
At 1:30 p.m., the Army will administer a comfort station with coffee and hydration. From 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Corps representatives will provide 1,000 sack meals.
“During times like this when people are in the greatest need, we want to be there to serve them,” stated Captain Patrick Lyons, Salvation Army Salinas Corps Officer.
Donations:
The best way to help disaster survivors is to make a financial contribution. Monetary donations allow disaster responders to meet the needs of disaster survivors. The Salvation Army uses 100 percent of all disaster donations in support of disaster relief operations.
The Salvation Army is responding to the needs of those affected by the overwhelming flooding in many parts of California including San Jose, Salinas, Bishop, Turlock, Modesto, and Hollister. The Salvation Army staff, officers, and volunteers will continue to provide much-needed care to a growing number of people.
