Emergency Disaster Services Response in Clearwater

The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team continues to expand its efforts in Pinellas County Florida. Later today, the team will be further strengthened by the arrival of a skilled four-person team from Texas, trained in Emotional and Spiritual Care. With their expertise, the total number of dedicated personnel on-site has risen to 38, significantly enhancing our capacity to support the community's recovery and well-being.

In response to the growing needs of those affected, a new primary feeding site has been established at The Salvation Army of St. Petersburg Corps. Today, and in the coming days, the EDS team will provide approximately 300 nutritious hot meals for both lunch and dinner, ensuring that those in need receive sustenance and comfort during this challenging time.

To date, The Salvation Army’s EDS team has provided:

  • 11,447 meals
  • 7,278 drinks
  • 5,016 snacks
  • Emotional and Spiritual Care to 488 individuals

These numbers reflect more than just statistics; they represent the heartfelt commitment of our team to bring relief, compassion, and a sense of hope to those in the community. The continued dedication of The Salvation Army’s EDS team underscores our mission to serve both the physical and emotional needs of those affected by this crisis, one meal, one conversation, and one prayer at a time.
