At times of disasters, it is no different.\u00a0 Since the Easter Tornadoes swept through the Tennessee Valley, The Salvation Army has served 7,351 meals, 2,616 drinks, 1,682 snacks, and provided 191 emotional and spiritual care in Hamilton and Bradley counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Salvation Army has been feeding those housed by the American Red Cross in area hotels as well as feeding emergency relief workers at command posts and serving neighbors as they continue clean-up efforts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have served neighbors today that we had served in 2011 since some of the same areas that were hit then are impacted by these tornadoes as well,\u201d says Major Stephen Story. \u201cOne resident in Bradley county thanked me for the lunches we handed her and said she hopes it\u2019s the same yummy sandwiches she was served in 2011, that they were the best sandwiches ever!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Salvation Army will need increased public support over the coming days and weeks. In addition to tornado disaster efforts, we will continue to provide ongoing care in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, to the un-housed community and meet needs through our social services office
