Supplies included cleanup kits, 18-gallon plastic storage totes, personal comfort kits, and cleaning supplies for affected households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The delivery was coordinated by Scott Tibbetts, Emergency Disaster Services Director for The Salvation Army Kentucky &amp; Tennessee Division, who is also meeting with local emergency management officials to assess current conditions and determine additional response needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;While some communities are beginning the recovery process, the impacts of this flooding event are still unfolding,&#8221; said Tibbetts. &#8220;Rivers and waterways are continuing to move water downstream, and conditions can change quickly. The Salvation Army is working closely with local emergency management partners and stands ready to provide additional support wherever it is needed.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Salvation Army has placed its Kentucky units on standby and remains prepared to expand response efforts as conditions warrant. In times of disaster, The Salvation Army provides holistic care to survivors and first responders, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meals and hydration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cleanup kits and emergency supplies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food boxes and household necessities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emotional and spiritual care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long-term recovery support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The flooding comes as Kentucky communities are also experiencing extreme temperatures and dangerous heat indices, creating additional challenges for those displaced or recovering from flood damage. &#8220;Our thoughts and prayers are with every family that has been affected by the flooding and the extreme heat that has followed,&#8221; said Tibbetts. &#8220;The Salvation Army remains committed to serving our neighbors for as long as help is needed.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because The Salvation Army serves nearly every ZIP code in America, the organization is uniquely positioned to respond quickly when disasters strike.
