Other Salvation Army facilities across Georgia are also being prepped to provide support as needed.

“The Salvation Army has a long history of serving in disasters, from hurricanes and tornadoes, to major events like 9/11 and Katrina,” said Lanita Lloyd, Director of Emergency Disaster Services for The Salvation Army of Georgia. “Our mission is to be wherever there is need, and we will continue to be there for those affected by Tropical Storm Debby.”

Currently, The Salvation Army of Georgia has served approximately 200 meals at the Emergency Operations Centers and shelters in Chatham, Coffee, Camden, and Glynn Counties.

“We will continue to assess and adjust our response as needed,” says Lanita Lloyd, Director of Emergency Disaster Services for The Salvation Army of Georgia, “As Tropical Storm Debby’s impact becomes clearer, we will deploy additional resources to the most severely affected areas.”

The best way to support The Salvation Army’s disaster preparation and response efforts is by making a financial contribution, which allows The Salvation Army to meet immediate and long-term needs.
