Our national network of trained disaster staff and volunteers have been deployed to locations throughout Texas, and now Florida, to provide food, hydration, clean-up kits, hygiene supplies, and emotional and spiritual care to first responders and survivors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Texas, Salvation Army relief teams are serving many of the hardest hit communities following the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey. Mobile feeding units are delivering three meals a day and essential supplies in communities still without power or where power has only recently been restored. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhile a large-scale feeding operation continues across southeast Texas, The Salvation Army response to Hurricane Harvey is beginning to transition from emergency assistance towards long-term recovery,\u201d said Alvin Migues, Emergency Disaster Services Director for The Salvation Army in Texas. \u201cWith teams on the ground providing food and practical assistance, we are continuing to assess the changing needs of each community and evaluating where we can best position our resources to be the most effective.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seventy-eight mobile feeding units operated by Salvation Army staff and volunteers continue to work in Houston, Victoria, and in the Golden Triangle and Coastal Bend regions of Texas. As residents return to their homes following evacuations the demand for meals, clean-up kits and other supplies is expected to increase. Other Salvation Army locations are providing support to shelter and distribution efforts in their respective communities. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hurricane Harvey &#8211; Disaster Relief Overview (9\/11)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Deployed 78 active mobile feeding units and 96 at peak.
