Workers from across the United States and Canada continue to arrive in Houston to support efforts in the affected area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over Labor Day weekend, The Salvation Army will provide the following resources to Hurricane Harvey survivors: &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Thirty-three (33) mobile kitchens and response teams, with an average capacity to serve 1,000 meals each day, are providing hot meals, snacks, and hydration in the following areas:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aldine Westfield<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bear Creek<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cleveland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conroe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Downtown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EastTex\/Jensen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>East Houston<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fort Bend<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garden City<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>League City<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Caney<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Northshore<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pasadena<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pearland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Porter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sheldon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spring Branch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of these units are stationary, while others travel throughout the community finding hard-to-reach locations where need is the greatest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The following Salvation Army locations continue to provide emergency shelter to families and individuals who have evacuated their homes:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Harbor Light Center: 2407 N Main St, Houston, TX 77009<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sally\u2019s House: 1717 Congress Ave, Houston, TX 77002<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Family Residence: 1603 McGowen St, Houston, TX 77004<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Donations to support the relief work of The Salvation Army can be made online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.helpsalvationarmy.org\">www.helpsalvationarmy.org<\/a>, by phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY, by texting STORM to 51555, or by check (designated \u201cHurricane Harvey\u201d) mailed to PO BOX 1959, Atlanta, GA 30301<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of September 1, the following assistance has been provided by The Salvation Army to those affected by Hurricane Harvey:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Meals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>177,376 meals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>105,263 snacks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>139,734 drinks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Shelter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2,113 lodging provided<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1,747 showers provided<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Emotional &amp; Spiritual Care<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5,918 spiritual care contacts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Donations Management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3,076 comfort\/hygiene kits (per kit)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1,216 infant supplies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>734 blankets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>40,578 clothing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3,926 food boxes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4,869 cases of water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Service Units<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>92 mobile feeding units serving Texas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for the Greater Houston Area, The Salvation Army has provided:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Meals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>80,673 meals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>27,362 snacks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>46,532 drinks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Emotional<\/strong> &amp; Spiritual Care<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2,123 spiritual care contacts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Service Units<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>30 mobile feeding units<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Donations Management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1,113 comfort\/hygiene kits (per kit)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>871 infant supplies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>570 blankets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2,015 clothing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1,498 food boxes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3,277 cases of water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information about The Salvation Army of Greater Houston\u2019s efforts regarding Hurricane Harvey, follow us on Facebook at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SalvationArmyHouston\">www.facebook.com\/SalvationArmyHouston<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About The Salvation Army of Greater Houston<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In this community since 1889, The Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command serves Harris, Montgomery and Fort Bend Counties through youth programs, homeless shelters, disaster relief, social services, senior programs and rehabilitation.
