To date, 15 mobile feeding units with certified food service workers and emotional and spiritual care staff are feeding, hydrating, and giving hope to first responders and people impacted by Hurricane Florence. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In partnership with Operation BBQ Relief, who\u2019ve worked tirelessly to maintain a steady supply of food, The Salvation Army has served&nbsp;20,000 warm meals to residents of Wilmington, NC and surrounding counties. Operation&nbsp;BBQ Relief is prepared to serve 25,000 meals each day. Operation BBQ Relief, a nonprofit that provides meals to displaced residents and emergency personnel during times of natural and other disasters, is cooking hundreds of thousands of pounds of turkey, pork and beef for Wilmington residents until early October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe resources Operation BBQ Relief brings, combined with The Salvation Army\u2019s mobile kitchen units, give us the opportunity to serve our community with lunch and dinner,\u201d said Major Mark Craddock, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army of Cape Fear. \u201cOur mobile kitchen units are feeding in Columbus, Bladen, Pender, Brunswick, and New Hanover, where residents have been significantly affected by the flooding and are slowly gaining back electricity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the floodwaters begin to decrease in the Cape Fear region, The Salvation Army&nbsp;continues to meet the immediate needs of the Cape Fear region with the help of generous contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How to help:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Online: helpsalvationarmy.org<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Donate by phone: 1-800-SAL-ARMY<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To receive a donation link via text: Text STORM to 51555<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can now use ALEXA to donate to The Salvation Army Hurricane Florence Relief.
