{"id":12864,"date":"2018-09-26T15:30:00","date_gmt":"2018-09-26T15:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/salarmyeds.org\/?p=12864"},"modified":"2026-10-05T15:35:45","modified_gmt":"2026-10-05T15:35:45","slug":"new-partnership-helps-keep-salvation-army-service-delivery-on-track","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salarmyeds.org\/index.php\/2018\/09\/26\/new-partnership-helps-keep-salvation-army-service-delivery-on-track\/","title":{"rendered":"New Partnership Helps Keep Salvation Army Service Delivery On Track"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wilmington, NC \u2013<\/strong> A new partnership between The Salvation Army and US Fleet Tracking is enhancing service delivery for those impacted by Hurricane Florence, including those in the Cape Fear region of North Carolina, through live GPS tracking and vehicle monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt was especially helpful at the beginning of our response in Wilmington and its surrounding counties because so many roads were closed from flooding and downed trees,\u201d says Alvin Migues with The Salvation Army. \u201cBecause of the tracking devices, we could see exactly where our teams were and re-route them safely to reach people who needed our help.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tracking devices are placed on Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services vehicles and equipment, including mobile feeding units, personnel sleeping units, generators, and off-road utility vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The devices not only help get teams to the areas of greatest need safely, they are also used to produce the most up-to-date information on service locations and provide situational awareness for The Salvation Army\u2019s partners in emergency management. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTo see how US Fleet Tracking plays a role in helping The Salvation Army coordinate and provide relief efforts is both exhilarating and humbling,\u201d says Sam Sims, Director of PR &amp; Marketing for US Fleet Tracking. \u201cEach situation and its effects will be different, which is why live location and tracking information is critical for The Salvation Army\u2019s deployment of resources.
