Trained staff and volunteers across all Salvation Army locations in the Carolinas are prepared to meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of communities impacted by the storm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Salvation Army is on standby in North and South Carolina, ready to deliver essential services and, most importantly, share the love of Jesus Christ in communities impacted by this storm,\u201d said Mike Patterson, Divisional Director of Emergency Disaster Services for The Salvation Army of the Carolinas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several communities within the flood warning area of western North Carolina are still recovering from deadly flash flooding caused by the remnants of Tropical Depression Fred in 2021. Majors Susan and Michael Rodgers of Waynesville, North Carolina, led The Salvation Army\u2019s response to provide meals, meals, beverages, snacks, and emotional and spiritual care to more than 250 search and rescue personnel and first responders, and residents in Cruso, North Carolina after the floods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur hearts are always with the residents of Cruso and surrounding river areas whenever heavy rains and strong winds are in the forecast,\u201d said Major Mike Rodgers. &nbsp;\u201cThese regions are particularly vulnerable to flooding, and with Hurricane Helene approaching, we fear they will be heavily impacted once again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the days ahead, The Salvation Army will remain ready to respond to the community&#8217;s immediate needs in the path of this devastating storm.<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contributing financially is the best way to help those impacted by disasters.
