Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi (ALM) Divisions Increase&nbsp;Meal Service and Distribution in Fort Myers Community<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FORT MYERS, FLORIDA (October 5, 2022)<\/strong> \u2014 With 46% of the residents in the Fort Myers community still without power, the Texas and ALM Divisions continued to see an increase in food service with the nine feeding units deployed in the area. A total of 4,420 meals, 2,813 drinks, and 390 snacks were served, while 87 residents were cared for through emotional and spiritual care. The four-day total for those services is 13,236\u00a0meals, 16,877\u00a0drinks, and 970 spiritual care contacts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Fort Myers operation hit full stride yesterday. Our team has done an excellent job of serving those in the community still without power,\u201d said Alvin Migues, Director of the Texas Division Emergency Disaster Services for The Salvation Army, and Incident Commander for the Fort Myers Operation. \u201cWe have an extremely experienced team of officers, staff, and volunteers that have worked many disaster situations over the years. You can see that experience paying off because we are moving at a brisk and efficient pace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hurricane Ian made landfall as a Category 4 storm the night of Wednesday, Sept. 28, on the west coast of Florida.
