Teams are serving in Laurel and Pulaski counties, providing hot meals, beverages, snacks, and emotional and spiritual care to survivors and first responders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mobile kitchen unit from Danville is currently stationed in Somerset, KY, where the storm left a trail of destruction, including damage to neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe damage in Somerset is heartbreaking,\u201d said Lieutenant Judah Irvin, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army in Danville. \u201cWe\u2019ve seen homes leveled, businesses destroyed, and families trying to pick up the pieces. In the midst of this devastation, we\u2019re here to provide food, comfort, and hope\u2014and we\u2019ll be here for as long as it takes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because The Salvation Army serves in nearly every zip code in America, the organization is uniquely positioned to respond quickly when disaster strikes.
