{"id":7709,"date":"2021-07-02T19:18:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T19:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/salarmyeds.org\/?p=7709"},"modified":"2025-06-26T19:20:53","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T19:20:53","slug":"the-salvation-army-of-miami-continues-meeting-needs-in-surfside-fl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salarmyeds.org\/index.php\/2021\/07\/02\/the-salvation-army-of-miami-continues-meeting-needs-in-surfside-fl\/","title":{"rendered":"The Salvation Army of Miami Continues Meeting Needs in Surfside, FL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Surfside, FL &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Since June 24, when news broke of the tragic building collapse in Surfside, FL.,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/disaster.salvationarmyusa.org\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Salvation Army of Miami Emergency Disaster Services (EDS)<\/a>\u00a0team has been on-site and responding\u00a0to the rapidly changing needs of the Surfside community and requests from emergency management teams on\u00a0the ground.<br><br>Currently, The Salvation Army EDS team\u00a0is stationed at the Family Assistance Center and is working in tandem with over twenty other community organizations to\u00a0directly support the\u00a0survivors of the collapse and the families of the missing. The Salvation Army has also deployed its\u00a0mobile laundry unit, with four washers and four dryers, which will be staffed 24\/7 by volunteers from the<a href=\"https:\/\/flbaptist.org\/disasterrelief\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/flbaptist.org\/disasterrelief\/\">Florida Baptist Disaster Relief<\/a>\u00a0to provide laundry services to the first responders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work The Salvation Army has done and will continue to do&nbsp;responding to this tragedy has been generously supported by&nbsp;local Miami-Dade County&nbsp;foundations.&nbsp;The Salvation Army of Miami would like to thank&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tbfinc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Batchelor Foundation<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/supportsurfside.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Support Surfside&nbsp;<\/a>fund&nbsp;for their generosity.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>As one of the nation&#8217;s largest disaster relief organizations, it is the mission of The Salvation Army to meet human needs without discrimination.
