Initial assistance events will be held on Monday, March 15, in Haleiwa and Hauula on Oahu to provide disaster financial assistance [for those with damage to their residence], temporary housing assistance [for those displaced by flooding], food and hydration, and emotional and spiritual care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Salvation Army has an established presence on Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, and Hawaii, and we are responding&nbsp;&nbsp;in our island communities as needs arise,\u201d said Victor Leonardi, Divisional Director of Emergency Services &amp; Safety for The Salvation Army Hawaiian &amp; Pacific Islands Division. \u201cThe events on Monday in Haleiwa and Hauula will provide survivors with financial assistance, temporary housing, and emotional and spiritual care. Additional outreach is planned for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leonardi continued, \u201cMany in our communities also have been asking us how they can help those in need. During emergencies, the best way to help is to provide monetary donations which allows the delivery of the exact relief supplies a community needs.
