Salvation Army Receptionist Joins Disaster Relief Efforts in Cole, Oklahoma

April 28, 2023 (Oklahoma City, OK). At The Salvation Army, we believe in the power of community and the strength of individuals who come together to make a difference. Our mission is to serve in His name without discrimination and to provide assistance to those who need it most. When disaster strikes, we know that communities are left vulnerable and in need of support. That was the case when a tornado hit Cole, Oklahoma, leaving many families and individuals in need.

In the aftermath of this disaster, The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services team was deployed to help those affected. Among the volunteers was Jill LeBeau, a receptionist at our Central Oklahoma Area Command located in Oklahoma City. It was Jill's first time on the disaster team, but her passion for helping others drove her to take on this new challenge.

Once the team arrived in Cole, Jill played an essential role in distributing meals and drinks to survivors of the tornado. Her actions helped provide much-needed relief and comfort to those who were affected by the tornado. Many families were left without access to basic necessities, and Jill's service was critical in ensuring that their needs were met.

"I just love helping people in need," Jill said. "Working with The Salvation Army provides a unique opportunity to help those who have found themselves in unimaginable situations. It's an honor to be able to partner with The Salvation Army and help those in need." Her dedication to serving others is an inspiration to us all.

At The Salvation Army, we are proud to have employees like Jill who go above and beyond to serve their community. The impact of the tornado on Cole, Oklahoma was significant, but thanks to the support of our disaster team and volunteers like Jill, we were able to provide much-needed relief and support to those in need.
