Hurricane Sally

Hurricane Sally made landfall near Gulf Shores, Alabama as a Category 2 hurricane with over 30 inches of rainfall in 48 hours and dangerous storm surge flooding, particularly in western Florida. The Salvation Army had staged crews just outside the affected area, and as soon as roads were cleared enough for entry, they moved in to begin service. Within 24 hours of their arrival more than 4,200 meals and more than 4,500 waters had been provided in Pensacola alone.
