The Salvation Army of Miami EDS Prepares for the Long-Term Support of Surfside

Surfside, FL – The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (“EDS”) staff were on site for a fourth day responding to the residential building collapse in Surfside, FL.

For a fourth day, the Miami-Dade EDS was onsite to provide support to the Surfside Community and first-responders.

Tomorrow, Monday, June 28, marks the opening of the Family Assistance Center where The Salvation Army will be onsite providing to support to families who need assistance securing transportation to and from the Miami area.

In addition to supporting the Family Assistance Center, The Salvation Army of Miami EDS staff are prepared to continue the distribution of food & beverages to first responders stationed at checkpoints and the media covering the situation.

This is an active and changing situation, The Salvation Army of Miami EDS will continue to be on standby to deploy additional personnel and resources as requested until the situation has been resolved.
