Somerset, KY – In the aftermath of recent tornadoes that have caused widespread damage in Laurel and Pulaski Counties, The Salvation Army has partnered with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (SBDR) to provide critical support to survivors and first responders.

Through this partnership, SBDR has deployed a mobile field kitchen to support The Salvation Army’s meal service, helping prepare and distribute hot meals across impacted communities. This combined effort has ensured that those affected receive not only nourishment but also care and compassion during a difficult time.

“The Southern Baptists have brought incredible resources and a spirit of service that perfectly complements our mission,” says Captain Carrie McCall of The Salvation Army. “Working together, we have been able to reach more people with food, supplies, and hope.”

In addition to meal service, The Salvation Army is providing emotional and spiritual support, snacks, drinks, and hygiene items through mobile units and site-based distribution. We continue to serve those affected by the storms and remain on the ground, committed to being there as long as we are needed.

Disaster response remains a core part of The Salvation Army’s mission, made possible through community partnerships and donor support. One hundred percent of all disaster donations go directly to support services for survivors and first responders.
