On October 10th, a devastating blast tore through a rural Tennessee explosives plant. Currently, The Salvation Army has mobilized units to the incident site to deliver hydration services for incoming first responders tasked with processing the scene. In addition, The Salvation Army is preparing emotional and spiritual care teams to support the affected community during a scheduled vigil on Sunday evening.

Scott Tibbetts, Director Emergency Disaster Services for the Kentucky – Tennessee Division, has placed additional Salvation Army response teams in the vicinity on standby, pending activation requests from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.
