The Salvation Army continues to serve those impacted by the Tennessee industrial explosion. Salvation Army disaster workers and emotional and spiritual care specialists are currently staffing a family assistance center along with World Central Kitchen, National Crises Response Canines, Tennessee Crisis Response Network, and Compassion Church.
With the arrival of household goods, Baby2Baby infant care products, and Midwest Food Bank food boxes, The Salvation Army, assisted by dedicated Compassion Church volunteers, provided 34 plant employees and their families with over 1,000 relief supplies on Friday. Additionally, since service began on Monday, nearly 80 impacted families have received emergency financial assistance in the form of gift cards.
Even with many organizations responding to this incident, the true healing work is being done by the community. They have rallied around their neighbors, friends, and loved ones to support them during this time. The Salvation Army’s goal, alongside other response organizations, is simply to provide community members with anything they need to continue the amazing work that they are already doing.
The Salvation Army remains committed to serving in Waverly. Additional Salvation Army emergency disaster response teams will be arriving over the weekend to begin mobile relief service on Monday. If you would like to assist with our response, please consider contributing a financial donation at give.helpsalvationarmy.org. We ask that you continue to keep those impacted by this incident in your prayers during this challenging time.
