As multiple crews of first responders are called to a large-scale industrial fire in Parkersburg, West Virginia, The Salvation Army is providing masks, food, and hydration to those serving.

News reports indicate that the initial fire started Saturday morning in one portion of the People’s Cartage, Inc. warehouse and was controlled. Calls came into 9-1-1 on Sunday, reporting that the fires rekindled overnight, spreading throughout the rest of the warehouse. Following a visit on Sunday, West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey declared a state of emergency for Wood County as crews continue to attempt to contain the blaze.

Because of the nature of the fire, crews are expected to be there for some time. The Salvation Army of Parkersburg will remain ready to serve and comfort.
