Dallas, Texas (July 25, 2026) – The Salvation Army continues serving communities impacted by recent flooding across South Texas as relief efforts begin transitioning to long-term recovery. Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) teams remain active in Uvalde, Zavala and Kerr counties, providing hot meals, snacks, hydration and relief supplies to support survivors.
“The response continues to evolve as communities move from emergency operations toward recovery,” said Kathy Clark, Divisional Director of Emergency Disaster Services. “The Salvation Army remains committed to meeting immediate needs while working to help families recover in the weeks and months ahead.”
In Uvalde County, the feeding response continues to stabilize as nonprofit organizations, corporate partners and local groups provide hot meals and resources throughout the community. The Uvalde Together Resiliency Center plans to begin distributing food, diapers and other emergency supplies next week.
In Kerr County, the Kerrville Kroc Center continues partnering with local agencies to provide relief to flood survivors. Distribution of cleanup kits, food boxes and other relief supplies will continue over the coming days through The Salvation Army’s social services office on Hays Street in Kerrville. Food service will be provided on an as-needed basis as community needs evolve.
In Uvalde and Zavala counties, the Southern Baptist Texas Convention field kitchen prepared 2,000 meals. Five mobile feeding units continue serving residents in Sabinal, Crystal City and Uvalde, while assessments remain ongoing to determine additional service needs. Canines for Christ visited disaster survivors at the Disaster Assistance Center and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Friday, July 25, scheduled as the organization’s final day of service. The Disaster Assistance Center in Uvalde will remain open through Tuesday, July 28, providing residents with access to recovery resources and additional support services.
The Salvation Army also continues monitoring weather conditions following Tropical Storm Bertha. The storm caused no significant impacts to local disaster operations locally.
The Salvation Army plans to provide meals at the following locations on Saturday, July 25:
- Sacred Heart Catholic Church – 408 Fort Clark Road, Uvalde, TX 78801 (Uvalde County)
- Morales Junior High School – 615 Studer Street, Uvalde, TX 78801 (Uvalde County)
- Crystal Ballroom – 2116 FM 65, Crystal City, TX 78839 (Zavala County)
- Sabinal City Hall – 501 N Center Street, Sabinal, TX 78881 (Zavala County)
- Roaming neighborhood near Flores Elementary School – 901 N Getty Street, Uvalde, TX 78801 (Uvalde County)
Since operations began, The Salvation Army has served 14,447 meals, 13,131 drinks and 11,211 snacks and made 913 emotional and spiritual care contacts. Additionally, EDS teams have distributed thousands of relief supplies to flood survivors across the affected area.
