DALLAS (Oct. 10, 2026) – Hurricane Isaias made landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast on Friday, bringing power outages and damage to communities across the region. In response, The Salvation Army Texas Division is deploying a nine-member Incident Management Team to Florida to support Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) operations underway across the state.
The team will depart Texas on Sunday and deploy to Panama City, Florida, where they will support The Salvation Army Florida Division’s disaster response efforts. Team members are prepared to remain in Florida for up to 14 days, assisting with operational coordination and management as response activities evolve.
“The Salvation Army prepares year-round for disasters such as hurricanes so we can respond quickly when communities need help,” said Texas EDS Director Kathy Clark, who will serve as incident commander. “We’re proud to support our colleagues in Florida as they prepare to serve individuals and families affected by Hurricane Isaias.”
The deployment is part of The Salvation Army’s broader Hurricane Isaias response across Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and other states affected by the storm. With a footprint that spans all 50 states, The Salvation Army is uniquely positioned to meet communities’ needs before, during and after disaster strikes. The Salvation Army provides meals, hydration, cleanup kits along with emotional and spiritual care to support survivors. The Salvation Army is working with federal, state and local emergency management agencies to coordinate and adapt its response efforts as conditions evolve.
