Dallas, Texas (May 1, 2026) – The Salvation Army is responding after multiple tornadoes moved through North Texas this week.

Salvation Army teams in Wise and Parker counties are collaborating with local authorities to provide support, including emergency assistance and 12 pallets of relief items such as cleanup kits and storage bins to residents affected by an EF-2 tornado that hit on Saturday. Approximately 24 homes were destroyed with 70 sustaining major damage across both counties. A shelter remains open in Springtown, accommodating residents from both Wise and Parker counties. Numerous churches and community centers are also open, serving as cooling stations and information hubs for those affected.

On Tuesday, April 28, a tornado struck Mineral Wells in Palo Pinto County, causing extensive damage to approximately 30 residential homes and several commercial properties. The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services team is delivering relief supplies, including hygiene products, plastic storage bins and water to the Center of Life in Mineral Wells, which is coordinating donations and providing shelter to survivors. Additionally, a Salvation Army canteen has been deployed to offer meals to those affected.

The Salvation Army has a long-standing commitment to disaster relief, offering immediate and long-term assistance to communities affected by natural disasters. The organization provides essential services including food, shelter and emotional and spiritual care to those in need.
